I've managed to get hold of a Coope subframe to replace the jaded (rusty and knackered) one in my Alfa 155.. since the Coope jobbie is only half the age and so is in much better shape than the one in my Alfa (17 years old and been to Jupiter and back).
I'm going to zinc and then re-poxy coat the beast, so I won't ever have to worry about it ever again, ever... and that means I'll have to also replace the 4 rubber bushes.. (the muffin shaped ones).. since I'm guessing they won't survive being immersed in molten zinc solution... but then they are looking a bit perished anyway.
There's 2 different sizes of bush.. and they're normally bonded to the sub-frame so they can't be replaced individually, according to Fiat.. but I believe that Fiat Tipo (1.4) bushes will fit, even though the subframes are obviously different, and these are available separately.
Has anyone replaced their bushes and can confirm this, before I dash out to buy some?
Better still, can I get them made in poly' from anywhere? I kept one of each old bush type/size if someone needs something to copy..
Many thanks..
Ralf S.
