Tuning my new 20vt project/400 bhp plus

I have started to think about a full sytem new eshast.

I need advise tho, the problem is i dont want to but strain on my tubo seals so i cant have a d-cat like i would like.

If i go for full sytem with sports cat will that up performance and flow without putting strain on the turbo seals?

Also what size downpipe and what back box exit/tailpipe size for maxemum torgue and power and a loud roar that amplifes that throty sound that the 20vt are famous for?

I was thinking 3 inch downpipe and 3 - 3 and half inch back box/tail pipe

What material also, for e.g i was thinking stainless steel but there are choices of other but i no nothing about the pros and cons.

Finaly, i was going to get motermech to make me one but i have been advisd to get a JOHN ASHLEY eshast.

As any one had or heard of anyone who has had experiance with this eshast company?

Thanks to anyone who can advise(y)

I rate motermech, paul is a great guy and very reasanable.

I probably will use him as you can tell from my signiture i use him for everything else.

I just thought id ask if anyone has had dealings with john ashly eshast as my friends highly recomend him.

If I have a sports cat will it improve flo, powes and sound and not effect my turbo seals?

I want a d-cat because of the seals situation I cant.

A CEL 100 or 200 will be less restrictive and so help on the power front with other mods.
Decats are a no no with the standard turbo because of the bearing but with a 360 degree bearing on an uprated turbo, you should be OK.
I use the racing cat just because of the MOT time hassle.
These are not cheap puppies (race cats) though and the system I have was over £700 from Blueflame although I got it a lot cheaper if you know what I mean ;)

If you're wanting 400 Gee-Gees, you'll need a bigger downpipe (major restriction) and 3" all the way from the turbo-back would be best. That ain't going to come cheap (£600+) I know Motormech are now fitting exhausts. "Steve" on the coop forum is doing a group buy on there. Do they do full 3" systems though?

Not sure, I need a eshast with stage 1 mods first as it will take a while before i get round to upgrading the turbo.

But having said that I need the only be buying one ashast not one for tne mean time ang get another when i upgrade my turbo, if you get my drift.

I hear blue flame gives good results in terms of power and sound on the coupes 20vt's

They're bloody loud, just be aware of that fact :p.

Sounds just up my street does that

how much do you think i could pick a second hand one up for?

I haver looked, did a seaech in buy/sell section but nothing came up.

I wouldnt rule out treack days but its not in my plans at the moment.

How much do you think a blueflame would set me back with a sports cat?

Second hand that is?

As pinin says, you rarely see these for sale second hand and if they do come up,they command a premium price because of the build quality and they are stainless which will last a lot longer than your car.

What are the more easyer exshasts to pick up second hand for the 20vt?

That are good in the way of sound and performance of course...

When everyone told you that the coupe is a supercar that will cost you ...
That was no joke.
Whatever you get for this baby,is going to cost you a packet.
Your best bet is to ring BLUFAME and ask for a price for a standard exhaust.
You could always give MOTORMECH a ring but you have to understand that you have taken on a project that is going to cost an arm and a leg.
These cars are very, very expensive to run properly
The blueflame I have fitted is around £700..............not cheap by any means but sound very nice.

However I paid £100 for my Cobra Sport stainless cat-back and it sounds the nuts :D You can pick up Peco/Cybox cat-backs for about £150, they're good value and sound ace. As ever, keep 'em peeled for second hand bargains.
