I'm planning a Coupe 16v turbo engine retofit into my classic Fiat Panda.
After already doing a Punto engine conversion, I need something with some serious ooomph and forced induction. The Panda currently does 0-60 in 8 seconds and has a top speed around the 115mph mark.
I hope to get 0-60 in 4-5 seconds with a slighly tuned 2.0 16vt engine. The Panda's weight is only 700kg - and thats with everything how it should be i.e un-stripped. As you can probably work out it is very possible to get insanely low acceleration times.
Having never (properly) looked at a Coupe 16v turbo, other than one I saw at Le Mans which was fitted into a Punto GT, I require a little help to start my project.
Firstly where are the mountings located on the engine and gearbox? Does anybody have a picture of a 16vt engine and box outside of a car?
I will be using the Coupe gearbox too, as to benefit from the LSD (please tell me the 16vt's have an lsd and not just the 20vt's?!!) Are they all 6speed or is there a 6speed specific model? Does the coupe have a dog-legged 1st gear or did I imagine that myself?
Yes to get these answers I could have used search but I'd prefer to say hello and introduce myself as in a few months I'll no doubt need some help!
