Im after some info on gearboxs as i broke first gear, and am after a new box, i cant find a code on the box, and im wondering if there are any other boxs that will fit that will have simular ratios, or where the best bet would be finding a good second hand box

lots of options, all proper engined and large diesel engined fiats and alfa 4cylinders use the basically same gearbox. only difference being that later ones have the slave inside the bellhousing.

plenty of alfa 156s about. :devil: don't suppose you know the gear ratio? the teapot uses 'quite short' gears, i think it's shared with the 1.8 twinspark 156s, but the coupe is a lot slower so might have longer gears?
