I agree. The more unique any product is, the more reason I find to justify its purchase. I recently bought an electric guitar made out of a tennis racket.

Personally I think look of the ugly multipla is more interesting over the look of the face lift. The facelift looks so bland and like every other mpv.
Then again I don't really care what it looks like, it's just so useful.

Brilliant cars - back in the day, round here they were used by a firm of air con installers as I assume it meant they could park in city centre multi-storey car parks but still fit everything in!

Nearly bought one myself back then, but as they were still quite new I just couldn't afford it, and didn't have any love for Fiats again until my 1st Panda 4x4, which sadly had to go, though I've still got a Panda, but soon, another 4x4 to replace it on the way!

It's the bland facelift version I can't stand

Re: FIAT Multipla Uglybug

How can anyone say these fantastic motors are 'uncool'?
Fast? Fast enough to lose ya license...
Practical and versatile? One of the best...
Different? - A redeeming factor for sure...
Quirky - ok, I'll give you that one...
Ugly? That's a personal thing, I can spot mine in a parking lot cos it dares to be different and not the same shape car with a different badge to the shed next door.
(How many times have you had to read the badge or the arse end of a car to know what you're looking at?)
Even Clarkson had good things to say about them - yeah, ok, they really could use a 2 litre petrol engine and a 6 speed box, but come on, they are so versatile they're the Swiss knife of the car world.
Whip the rear seats out and you've got a bloody good van, add an hook and it'll pull any caravan or boat - I've done it and had no hassles.
How many motors have you owned with twin sun roofs AND aircon?
It's no more difficult to work on than most cars today and a lot easier than most. Servicing is just as ****ty as any other shed and the lack of it just as expensive.
Parts via Fiat are eye-wateringly expensive, but thankfully there are plenty of after market suppliers at reasonable prices.
Am I biased? I don't think so, I've only owned 6 of them so maybe I'm not experienced enough to know any better.
My last 5 have been diesel and they've been reasonably good economy wise.
(I don't agree with all the bull**** being banded around about diesel and global warming, look at the iceage/ heatwave history before believing the lying politicians, that shiney arsed lot love to jump on some idiots band-wagon cos they can't think for themselves.
Anyway, UGLY BUGS ARE WELL COOL
Nuff sed.
George
