Thought I'd give my webspace a play now that Ntl are now virgin media.

I fell flat at the first hurdle - email address.

I haven't used my ntl email address since I got it as I have my own DNS name with a huge number of email addresses. Do you think customer services would have my email address and password?

If its like Telewest you should be able to phone/email them and have it reset.

Although it might be your account number followed by "@ntl.co.uk" if you didn't change it.

If you had ntl from when it was dial up did you keep the disc. We kept our disc which had the email address and password written on the cover.

My parents are still on NTL from the days when it was free dialup.. Oh they were the days! We even got 2 lines so we could have a constant dialup line

you need your account name/account email address to do that!

as an attempt, try your name seperated by a "." between names and then end it with @ntlworld.com

yeah that will more than likely be ur email address and your pass word will likely be summit like ntl-??-??

just had a though (yes it did hurt) if you still have your cable modem setup disk with the box they should hopefull be a install guide in there and it should have your user name and password in

for telewest its the same as the log in details you use for broadband.so if the username is ch342gg890 then the email is [email protected]

failing that just call BB tech and they can help

remember if you have to call BB support (well when i worked there) they used to charge at perium rate untill htey dropped it to local

its free on blueyonder from a TW line(151).dial up has a fee

well this was before they all joined up and it was the money grabbing NTL however it may have changed now its all part of virgin media

lol i remember when i 1st went telewest.they had problems with the main cable so i couldnt get BB for 2 weeks but was given 'free' dial up.
this broke nad they wanted me to pay premium rate for dial up tech help but i argued i was a BB customer :bang:

telewest in Sheffield were a bit hit'n'miss.

One wouldn't install to our student house for some reason. They eventually did but by then I'd moved out and had a rented house with massive 1mbps cable! They moved that without charge to the next house we got the year after. Even ran the cable all the way upto the room in the loft!

As for having a username.. NTL doesn't use a login name. It used to be MAC controlled but they even dropped them controls!

I use a router to access the net. I probably set up ntl while drunk after celebrating getting rid of Bulldog.

yeah its like tha for me.username and password 1st time then it seems to be set up after that via the router
