Right, i have realised my PC is, well, crap. So im looking at getting a Dell XPS, dual core intel processor, twin gpu 1gb geforce 7950 sli gpu, hd sound, 2gb ram £1566 delivered, any advice?

Yep rip of comes to mind I could build a PC with best of everything on the market for about that price.

Avoid that like the plague, especially if paying £1500 for it

its not that bad Ive had all the XPS range at home and none have ever had any problems The latest is a beast Granted i dont have to pay for them but the astigmatism against Dell is unjust!

It wasn't really a dig at the name, more at the price level....

just make sure you order a mobo compatible with your current hard drives unlike someone i know(shuffles feet)

Well, im not too keyed up, i built pc i have atm, but not from scratch, was a old pc, i bought mobo and athlon xp chip v.cheap, and most of stuff given, but spending all that moneey, its good to have warrenty and feel secure if it goes wrong, Dont need monitor as run thru my tv, not sure if i feel confident enough to be pratting with all that hard earned lol

You will still get a warranty on the individual parts you buy?!

yeah theresw warrenty on the parts.
eg 3 years on a CPU so no worries there and after 3 years its all miles out of date anyway

Dell are a good computer manufacturer i have a dell laptop and dell axim x51v, and both have a had problems with them due to my error and both have been fixed, go for it!!!!

Key word being Laptop!. There Desktop's are Pants and overpriced, but their business range is cheap & pants. At my old job a Dell desktop would brake down every month but they were that cheap (£220 inc VAT ex Monitor) we just swapped it out and binned the broken one .

Looks like im getting the mid range xps 710 dual core one.

Should be quickish, 2x 512 ati x1950 gfx cards, 2gb ram, 500gb hdd, creative x-fi soundcard, not to everyones taste but should be ok for what i want

1198, inc delivery, 3years mcafee and free vista premium, dont think it was too steep, should last a while without me having to buy anything for it anyway lol

Lol - Avoid! you can build one for about £900 that will thrash it.
