Previously - when I purchased my nice new laptop - somebody asked me to mention next time something came up at Aldi. Well my grandpa told me today that he had a flyer through his door for Aldi today. New computer deals starting next Thursday (25th). Suprising how close it is (maybe 4 weeks) since the last big deal.

Ok:

Or, quick intro:

Medion PC base unit only, £749.99, P4 3.06 hyperthreading, etc. Very little info on the site at the moment but on the web i find it has something along the lines of:
DVD burner
ATI 9800 Ultra (128mb)
Remote control
54g wireless lan
120gb 7200rpm HDD
512mb/1024mb? not sure which

17" flat screen LCD panel, 269.99

Radio wireless keyboard and mouse set 19.99

USB 2.0 scanner (1200x2400 dpi)

4port USB 2.0 hub, 9.99

A4 (!!!) graphics tablet with mouse, 29.99

Computer cleaning wipes, 1.79 for 100 (What I want! Been looking for cleaning wipes for screens and keyboard, PC world and staples want about £5 for 10-20, 1.79 for 100 isn't bad!)

Not as good as the deals before but none to be sniffed at.

Just thought i would let you know so that no one complained in a week's time!

Aldi have great deals most weeks to be honest, it's just that some are more interesting than others.

No, I don't work for them (yet!).

hehe.

Well I managed to help sell 3 of their laptops last month. I look occasionally on their website for what deals are coming up but mainly they have cheapy power tools (angle grinders for 8.99 (!) and such) which don't bother me.

I had to stand outside of aldi 4 weeks a go for 2 hours to get my laptop but saved about 400-500 on what it would cost elsewhere so it was worth it. Only mild frost bite too!

They pay well as I understand it so if you're bored of dealing out drugs you can change to that!

Yes I know they pay fantastically, only reason I applied for the job (that and the Audi, spose I shouldn't say that on a Fiat forum mind).

The graphics tablet is excellent for the money. I bought a little one from ebay for a fiver and the theory works well for drawing in diagrams and such for me. Would definately upgrade to an A4 one if i had the money. My 6" x 4" is too small to allow much work on a small level.

For me, it is much easier to draw straight in rather than drawing, scanning and then cropping etc. Just wish I had £30 spare in my life lol.

First I want a USB 2.0 tv tuner to record things from the TV onto DVDs to watch later etc. USB 1 apparently can't handle the data rate of TV in this way and hence isn't good enough for recording.

The flat screen LCD is probably the best out of the bunch although the resolution is low compared to my laptop.

It's just if you mention you got some like a laptop from Aldi at school, people would be like "waaaaa?"

Ben,

I would if I could. Trouble is, for the tablet I expect you will have to be there by opening time, 9am (i think). My school sttarts at 8:50 and it is a 10 minute drive to the closest one from my school.

I hope somebody will offer, otherwise the best i can do is go in my free period, 10:15, to the more local one. Although as you can imagine, this isn't too easy for me and they might be all sold by that time. But the offer is there :)
