AMD were the first to offer a quad core system.. so who's copying who?

As for having 8 processors - I've used servers with 8 or more processors for ages. I doubt WinXP even in its pro guise will support that number of cores.

Intel made the Pentium Pro

using 2 xeons, so its an average run of the mill server repackaged for office use.

its kind of like converting a transit van into an mpv

XP Pro only does dual CPU's. You switch to processor affinity in Task Manager then you get split graphs for performance.

AMD haven't got an answer to Conroe, and when they do, Intel are set to drop the conroe to silly low prices. It's a grim state of affairs for the AMD lot! it's why people like me are switching (for the first time) to intel.
