i run bps spyware and adware daily and also avg anti virus. its starting to annoy me now, can any one help me?

Probably a buffer/stack overflow.

Often caused when certain programs run simultaneously with eachother.

My computer often does that when I try to view MPEG videos online while several IE windows are open or while certain IE windows have certain plug-ins or scripts running before the video.

Once the error has occured and IE is shut down on opening it again I can then view the video without error.

This may explain why your error does not happen all the time.

Try using IE first before you open any other applications to see if it works on its own.

Then next time it crashes make a note of what was running at the time and what your computer was doing. If the error occurs everytime you recreate that same scenario then your problem is one of the other programs running at the same time or other IE windows as they run in a seperate process like seperate programs.

get a decent Web Browser!

lol  :p :yum:

you done the scans in safe mode??, always worth a try, hit F8 on booting the PC up and you get the advanced startup menu, can choose safe mode there. Only use safe mode for scans though, as you get too little.

Have you tried the uninstall/re-install for opera/firefox/IE?worth a try again.

HTH,

Carl.

One problem to look at might be the different virus checkers your using, ive had friends in the past who have had their internet, not shutdown but definitly slowdown because of the two Virus checkers are going against each other! Its unlikely it is that but its worth a try!

To work around this problem, follow these steps:

1. Start Internet Explorer 6.

2. On the Tools menu, click Internet Options, and then click the Advanced tab.

3. In the Settings box, click to clear the Use HTTP 1.1 check box under HTTP 1.1 settings, and then click OK.

Liam

Await a hotfix in a few days, this will reduce funtionality on more basic websites.
