Sounds like you need a BIOS upgrade. At Hi Grade Computers, many notebooks were sent back doing this, and we simply flashed the BIOS to a newer one, and problem was solved.

Either look for the download on the Toshiba website, burn to bootable disc and flash, or send back to Toshiba.

Another day...another problem...

The mice on Toshiba notebooks are famous for their 'supermarket trolley' properties...as good as the little 'nipple sticks' are, they are prone to drifting off course after a while.

The short term solution we found was to remove and refit the little rubber nipple as this seems to fix things temporarily.

We've had no end of problems with Toshiba laptops at work and have struggled to get the onboard mouse disabled - if you use a PS2 mouse it automatically disables it but not if you use a USB one!!!

Laptops just aren't built like they used to be. I've got a positively ancient Toshiba Satellite something-or-other that must be 7 or 8 years old by now (Pentium 133, anyone? 2Gb disk?)...it's slow, the screen is crap and the little "nipple" mouse thing occasionally develops a mind of it's own, but the bloody thing won't die! :D
Maybe weighing half a ton helps them survive?
