Found new hardware

[Fast Finger]

Is there a way to turn off the system that automatically searches for new hardware at startup?

Every time i turn on i get 2 messages, one for iPod service (dont and never have had an ipod) and another one which is just jumbled letters.

Nothing else has been plugged in and according to anti virus and anti spyware its not due to that.

Any ideas people Its driving me mad :bang:

When prompted to install click cancel then once you're in windows go into hardware manager (right click my computer > properties > hardware > device manager) then right click the things that keep popping up and disable them. Should stop them popping up at startup

Most likely unrelated to this but to remove other rubbish that comes on at startup, start> run, type 'msconfig' then hit the startup tab and turn off anything you don't need. Assuming NOT win2k
