Time for a GPU upgrade for gaming....which one???

been looking at AMD HD 7000 series, but there's so many in that range.

Can anyone suggest?

Board is supporting PCI 3.0 x16 which is sufficient.

Even the board may need upgrading soon though...

Thoughts?

Edit: Incidentally, I have a 7970 running 3 screens, I don't really play modern games but the few I have tried it can handle at fairly high details in 5760x1080.

Not sure mate. if something seems worth it then ill push the boat out perhaps. But absolute limit would be £200 I think. Anything more than that and I think i'll need a new board to remove a bottleneck

Interesting. radeon 7990 comes out higher than the radeon r9 290. Though those are in another league.

That looks like a good buy on Scan's page, it's just MSI. Not so sure about them, think I'd prefer sapphire or something. Maybe that's just down to a bad experience with an MSI board?

MSI have been around long enough they know what they're doing. I've had a bad Gigabyte board in the past but it wouldn't stop me buying them again if the price and spec was right.

Might look into it then mate, that's a decent price for what it does. I'm currently running Radeon 5000 series so anything is an upgrade from here!
