hi, i dunno if anyone can help but had some trouble with my laptop and net!

its wifi connection, and i have the forum running ok as well as msn and icq but if i try and open any other page ans getting error message page cannot be displayed for every other site i go on... any ideas guys?

I had this problem about 20 mins ago. I just kept closing my connection and re-connecting and now it is working fine.

Does your wireless signal strength keep changing? Having just set up my new wireless network after I broke the previous one, the linksys unit isn't as strong as my old dedicated access point. I occasionally got what you said 2 days ago, I simply reset everything, hit "repair connection" on the wireless icon menu and voila, been fine now for 2 days. Not sure technically why but it hasn't come back and it saved me totally redesigning my network to replace the upstairs hub with the wireless and set up our old router downstairs....

Scream abuse at it very loudly and in a Welsh accent. Works for me.

In my experience it has to be a good strong Welsh accent. Nothing else compares. My voice has had a serious battering this weekend, so I couldn't do scream abuse now.

This reminds of when my mate asked me to look at his PC as it was giving out of disk space errors and there was sod all installed on it. Looked in my documents folder properties and it was almost the size of the HD. Looked further and found a folder called davids stuff which was roughly the same size. In that was a folder labelled PORN and was showing at 13.2GB on a 15GB HD.

What a plank. and a pervert at that
