get a decent anti virus removal like malware bytes and install that along with ccleaner

boot up into safe mode (hold f8 on start up) and run the anti virus let it finish and clear everything then run ccleaner and let that run its course

run a defrag and reboot and hope that's solved it depends how viscous the virus is

what operating system are you running?

If Malware Bytes can't get rid of it, it's a full reinstall job I'm afraid! :(

not always i had something like this and Malware bytes removed it but then on start up little files hidden all over the place would re install the virus

if you google the virus name you can usually find a fix for it if all else fails

I'd just nuke it anyways tbh, always have done when I've had a virus, just don't fancy taking the chance. :)

If it's something I really need, I usally take it off put in on a pen drive and scan it with every anti virus and anti spyware known to man and put back on when the fresh install is done lol.

sorted now. i have used mailware, spybot search and destory and all is clear now and no pop ups.

Has anyone got a vista windows installer disc as did not get one with my pc

Install Windows then Download Ubuntu 10.10 for free and isntall it dual boot. You wont have any virus problems with Linux the architecture wont let them get a hold. The office files are compatible with M$ Office and it runs Firefox and Google Chrome just fine. The only snag is you have to hit the command line to install the DVD drivers. Other than that it installs itself.

If you don't like it you'll still have Windoze on the other boot sector.

Some of the "advice" in here is astonishing.
Top marks for the enthusiasm and eagerness to help, but in my opinion, some of the above advice is not going to help or is simply plainly incorrect.

Glad to hear you got it all fixed however, Savage :)
