I would add this to the classified but more people would see this here. Just wondering if anybody is interested if i were to be selling it? I have used it to backup the my documents folder on my laptop (I would supply what software to use etc. if necessary) very simply - my documents on my laptop has never exceeded 3gb.

Basically it's a USB 2.0 2.5" 12mm or so aluminium laptop hard disk drive caddy with a 3.2gb (or so) hard disk. It's USB 1/2. It doesn't need a separate power supply either - runs only from USB. It has a leatherette style case aswell (actual unit is blue anoidised style aluminium and has IBM written on it. I think the HDD inside is Toshiba but can't remember. It works fine, not bad sectors etc.

Reason for possible sale: I might upgrade to a 60gb unit to simply back up my whole laptop rather than just my documents - i take backing up quite seriously.

It works as quite a good (and obviously large size!) memory stick just without the same level of portability (but still remember it's a laptop HDD, not a fullsize desktop HDD!)

So anybody interested, if so, how much?

Cheers
Paul

OK, just used my parents christmas present, Sony P120 with Carl Zeiss lens, excellent digi cam!

I think I managed to set it up to take pictures meant for the net so here you go:

BTW: it doesn't seem to show it but the case is aluminium all around except the two ends which are grey plastic - the picture seems to show that the other sides are plastic too!

£25 is being generous as the case can be picked up on eBay for a tenner max and a 3Gb drive is almost worthless.

If you're after a 60Gb version why not just buy a 60Gb hard drive (about £65 inc vat) and fit it into the case you got already - you won't find a 60Gb USB drive with such a small footprint for that sort of money so bag yourself a bargain.

I know I can get £25+ on ebay, a 1.2gb one sold for £20 without a problem.

The case is special - it's a 12mm height (or more drive) and not 9.5mm like every single one on ebay, that allows you to fit older but bigger drives. It commands a higher price because of this :)

Anyway, things have changed, I have to buy some books so I will have to stick with this for a while now :(

I had a 60gb (but 3.5" drive) in a USB 2.0 case for £50 lined up but it will have to wait :)
