Right it's just getting damn annoying now..

as the title says the mouse keeps dropping off, sometimes every couple of seconds or sometimes it's ok.. very tedious..

It's a USB and I have tried plugging it into the front and back ports with no difference..

Help

if its optical make sure its on a dark, matt surface.

Make, model, wired, wireless, optical, laser, ball ?

So pretty old then I'm guessing? If that's the case (and the screws are accessible) try opening it up and giving it a good clean out

Not that old.. well bout 18months so old in computer terms i guess..

It's weird though as when I plug anything else into the same USB ports as the mouse there are never any problems.. from removable HDD's to flash drives and DSLR cameras..

Also with wired cables it takes a hairline fracture in the cable and u get a flicker on and off
It could just have snapped - or its been trapped somewhere and that enough to sometimes trigger it

Tbh a Wired Ball mouse isn't expensive!!

Let alone an nice opitcal one at least!

Yep, I'm with Ziggy, it sounds like it's completely goosed. You can pick up a new mouse for about £5 from Tesco which'll do the job nicely.

Cheers all think i'll pick myself up one of them new fangled wireless ones and keyboard

Logitech are a good make, Ive got their wireless mouse and had no probs with it. You can get Microsoft ones cheap as well if you look online, Ebay/Amazon/Play etc

I use a Logitech G5 wired gaming mouse

I also have a Logitech Bluetooth one as back up.
