Must have a noisy line then. I'm 1.5 miles from mine and got 6-7mbit on Be. 49-52db of attenuation.

When I was looking at the wiring coming into the house it's very old, like GPO old, surprised it still works tbh, meh.

So did ours, until someone fitting fascia boards broke it by moving it, it had been static for so long (it attached to one of them). It turns out we were on a schedule to have it replaced anyway, so BT bought it forward and fixed it free of charge - might be worth ringing them to see if you're in a similar situation, everything to and including the first socket in your house is their equipment, so they are meant to maintain it.

Dunno if it improved BB speeds, we were on dial up at the time, but voice quality was better.

Will most likely be 2 x 155mbit load balanced links directly onto backbone.

TalkTalk are really taking the p**s now, the router says it's sync'd with the exchange at 1.36MB/sec but the connection is so slow I can't even get the Flash object on the speedtest page to load.
