pentium 4 with 2gb of ram should have done that disc in about 10 minutes!! its only 800mb.thats just over cd sized.
get nero 7 and try again.
when you burn a disc dont have loads of apps open

what dvd drive do you have?

i only had nero open when burning can i get nero 7 for free ??

My advice is get rid of Nero. On both my computers I've had trouble with it.
If you are burning avi. files it might be that Nero is converting avi. files to dvd.
Have you tried "Convert X to DVD"? It converts most video files to DVD & then burns them to DVD. It costs about £15 but well worth it.

Yup thats a fair point he may have been using the creat video feature and converting the avo to vob's to allow it to be played in a normal dvd player. That would take a few hrs on an old pc, with old software and codecs.

Well, he should have been clearer as to what he wanted to do ;)

I burn a lot of .avi files to DVD-Rs, as DATA disks - and use Nero - never have any issues whatsoever :)

yes those of us with proper hardware ot play avi ;) just burn to data discs
i cant magically tell someones recoding
as stu says ive never had issues with nero

Yup me too, thats why i bough an divx dvd player all those moons ago. For the amount of cash saved on other means its a wise investment. Also means 12episodes of your favourite prog can be recorded on 1 dvd.

But then somepeople... :bang:
