Is there a dedicated Stilo Club or Web-Site that is UK based anyone?

Thanks
TC.

I was trying to find one too... Doesn't seem to be.

Was gonna post in the Stilo section about maybe setting one up....

Hi Ben

Perhaps this car is just too grown up for the modders and enthusiasts to get hold of it yet.

Once they come down in price or are handed down to the younger members of families, I'm sure they'll have a bigger following and become like the Bravos and Puntos of today.

Until this happens, I don't think you'll see an owners club.

Isn't that the whole point? Owneres club doesn't need to be a modified car club... just a load of people with a Stilo that have an information / knowledge to share ... ?

I agree Ben, but that isn't the way it works.

You'll get sensible middle-aged family people (ooh sounds like me) buying these cars to get them from A to B. They're not enthusiasts or interested in talking with other owners, they get a glitch and off to the dealership they go.

Once a car becomes more affordable and mainstream that's when it has a bigger following and people start becoming enthusiastic about them and personalising them.

I know you disagree, but if I'm wrong, why isn't there an owners club or dedicated web-site in the Uk?

Cheers
TC.

I have to agree with Ben on this one.

At the end of the day it takes all sorts to make up an owners club - sure you'll get the classic boy racer who thinks a whale-tail looks good on any car as well as the more mature 'grown up' types like us.

If Fiat had decided to be like Ford/Vauxhall/VW etc. and carry on facelifting we would have a Bravo/Brava Mk II and have a ready made club to join - instead, they threw caution to the wind and called it the Stilo so we have the opportunity to create one.

I reckon we ought to go for it - there's enough of us to make it work

There's a Multipla club for gods sake :)
If someone (Lead?) offers to run it, it could all be setup via here...

Ben

How do you go about setting up an owners club? Are there subscriptions? What do you offer? Do you have to set up some sort of six monthly publication? What do membrs expect from an owners club? Would it have to have a web-site? So many questions! I wouldn't mind doing it but it seems a little daunting, it's a bigger job than it first appears, particularly if you want it to be professional and not a Mickey Mouse set up. I'm not sure how much time and commitment would be involved in a project like this.

Any advice or guidance would be appreciated.

I'm up for it if you are TC...if there's a couple of us doing the work then it will be easier to fit in.

I guess the logical place to start would be to start a thread/poll asking how many people would be interested in 'joining' and what they would expect to receive. As for subscriptions, you need to be able to offer the members something in return, especially if you are looking at annual renewals.

What do you say then, shall we make Peterborough the home of 'Club Stilo'?

Hello Purple!

Club Stilo eh? Very exotic, like Club Med or Club Tropicana! Sounds sexy, just like the car itself!

Right, if we start a thread in the Stilo General Section, we can take it from there. We've got nothing to lose, and as you say, we'll gauge opinion and see what people really want and expect from an owners club. Do you want to start the thread, or shall I?

what is the obsession of setting up new Fiat clubs? There is a perfectly good Fiat Motor Club that caters for all Fiats, with its own seperate registers for each car. If you all joined that and got a Stilo register up and running well, youd have the backing of the club and be able to do lots of events etc.

I take it you're not keen on the idea then?

I cant see the point, if everyone joined one club and that would be the FMC, we would have a bigger voice so that the club could get good discounts on parts, insurance etc. Also imagine the size of club events! There are far too many individual owners clubs IMHO, its a shame as all us Fiat people should be united. A lot of it is down to personal disputes/differences etc, people have a barny with someone, go off and start another club but fail to see the big picture:(

Well Club Stilo is doing both - by joining you are also becoming an affiliate member of FMCGB thus increasing their membership base.
