Just gauging interest at the moment to fund the pursuit of a bike.
As the title states, it's a MK 2 VW Golf CL 1.6 G reg (1990) with 135,426 on the clock. It's in a nice Alpine White with small bumpers and 5 doors with a Weber carb and manual choke rather than the unreliable pier-burg one. Completely clean underneath with the odd rust spot around the body.
I bought it in January to put back on the road as it had been off the road for a few years and keep as I always wanted one. Didn't need much to get back on the road but did need some bodywork doing, it's not showroom condition but it does the job without looking too bad.
It's having a secondhand boot fitted, a windscreen and a different interior in the coming weeks as well as a tidy up, tracking, new speedo cable and front top mounts as they need doing anyway. Currently no radio or speakers as a previous owner ripped it out, but hope I can take it out of the donor car I have as well as a few other bits and pieces.
If I get around what I'm looking for it, I'll even throw in the stainless steel box system I have which came with it, but I'm open to sensible offers, no swaps though.
It had 2 new front tyres just before the MOT, found some wheel bolts as the boss needed some for his one that I never got back and new carb flange a week after the MOT.
These are what it failed on but sorted with no trouble:
Windscreen wiper does not clear the windscreen effectively both (8.2.2)
Nearside Stop lamp not working (1.2.1b)
Nearside Front passengers seat insecure (6.2.A.1)
Rear registration plate incorrect (6.3.1a)
Registration plate lamp not working (1.1.C.1d)
Exhaust system not adequately supported (7.1.1)
Rear Tyre not fitted in accordance with side wall instructions o/s and n/s (4.1.D.1f)
Wheel nut(s) missing all wheels (4.2.A.1e).
I have been as honest as I can and anything I remember I'll add to the post.
No pictures as of yet either as she's a bit dirty and I haven't had the chance to take any.
Any questions please don't hesitate to contact me and I'll answer them to the best of my ability.
