well for those who are students you know its the easter holiday and i've took this time to get a few jobs that were annoying me out of the way........I've got some new seat covers, sprayed the the storage compartments in the door, currently trying to get the rest of the door bits done, put some new speakers in the front, new cd player, and gave it a good clean....I'm pretty happy with the results as all the things i've done were all extremely cheap!!!! now have the more expensive things to do...but before i do those i want a bit of advice on changing the side indicator repeators...I have the plain 'big nipple' repeators on at the moment and have a pair of oval ones which i want to put on, but as usual do not have the slightest clue about doing so and learning on the way....so any help on this would be greatly appreciated!!!

thanks in advance:D

changed mine for some yellow ovals last year. the old ones are held in with two clips one at each side just get a screw driver down the side of the rubber. mind the paint work. there is a block that holds in the old one. as i remember you have too cut the block off and connect two new connectors. but i could be wrong so just check. half an hour job at most and really makes the difference.

i'm considering some smoked ovals. pretty cheap from MotorWorld (free plug for MotorWorldCinq;)) I found. Was looking at red ones but they wouldn't match my fronts cos they're smoked. They the ones you used? About £7.99?

many thanks........another development is that eventhough i've been spraying i haven't been using a specific plastic primer, will this lead to the paint chipping away??

Primer fills in small imperfections and gives the final coat something to adhere to. However, many say that they are ok painting plastics without primer at all! It all depends on the finish of the plastic etc.

From my point of view, I would never paint anything without primer, be it heavily used outdoors or protected from weather indoors as it provides extra adhesion.

Plastic primer vs. general primer isn't exactly a huge issue unless the surface is in a place where a lot of wear acts upon the surface, i.e. front car bumper. I wouldn't worry about it unless it does start to chip etc. at which point you probably know what to do now.
