does anyone know how much the seicento gear box takes? haynes says 2.4 litres for the cinq so i bought 3 litres. got half way through the second bottle and it started pissing out! wondering if i got a foreign object in there!

cheers

Saturday night with the wiring diagram,:slayer: you scots know how to party don't you:p
So the portman ones are better.
Is it worth putting the haynes back on fleabay and investing in a portman?

Auto data says

75w/90 Semi syn but i guess you could use fully syn
and 1.7 litres regardless if its the 4or the 5 speed box

:edit this was for the cinq it lists sei as 2.4L ...?

I'd say get all 3, I've got a haynes and the workshop manual CD... friend has the porters & the 3 of them make a perfect set.

this sounds stupid but would the wrong amount of oil affect changing down? it changes up better than ever! but going down its hard to get into second and impossible to get into first unless absolutly still!

Very doubtful. If you did it on level ground, then the top plug dictates how much oil goes in.

More likely your clutch needs adjusting. (Or you need to learn to double de-clutch!)

well oil was still trickling out when i put the plug in, only a little trickle though. could that be it?

i was thinking the clutch needed adjusting but it just seems to be worse since i changed the oil!

Porter manual is pretty useless, although has a lot of misquoted capacities and a good list of torque settings and thread sizes and pitches.
