my plan is to mod my cinq with a modified head, mckrich chip,back box and air filter. what brake upgrade would you suggest? is the standard disc or pads man enough or will a suitable fast road pad i.e EBC greenstuff be enough?

It really depends on what you want: brakes that will keep up with the car or brakes that will improve the performance of the car.

If the latter, the heirarchy is:

14" wheels, GT calipers and disks
13" wheels, UT calipers and disks

if the former, and here you're looking, realistically, at a 10 - 15 bhp max gain, then I'd see how it is on the stock pads and disks and look at new disks and improved pad material when it's time to replace the old ones.

I asked the same sort of question last month, but limited it to direct replacement parts.

Got a set of OMP drilled / groved (hardly groved.... ) sat waiting to be bolted on. Not bad for ~£70 delivered, inc pads.

Will update my thread once bedded in.

cheers for that, will look at the sticky plus i will be interested how those drilled disc works out, will keep my eye on that thread.

i fitted ebc discs and greenstuff pads on the cinq and they made a big difference in stopping power

I found greenstuff very good on 9 road rallys, these rally where 150 miles of nonstop pain, never faded.Greenstuff is great on a light car (like a cinq)
