Anyone know how the door pressure switches (and the on off switch on the light itself), wire up?

Basically I've acquired a red led strip light, which I want to mount right at the front of the footwells so that it can either be switched on or off, or activated by the door sensors...

...I'm normally pretty good with wiring, but this has me totally foxed.
I'm guessing that the interior light either connects via two power lines, or has a very complicated switching arrangement.
The simplest way I could think of to do it was just to wire it in to the interior light set up - but obviously not knowing quite how it all works I'm at a bit of a loss...

:bang:

Right, there's 3 wires go to the interior light, a permanent live, a permanent earth(-) and another wire that goes to the door switches. when you open a door the wire earths to the body, bringing the interior light on. Whereas when the doors are shut and you throw the switch on the int. light you connect the permanent earth.
Hope this makes sense.:)

Erm, makes sense, yeah - still not 100% sure how I'm gonna go about doing this....

...with regard to the wires being found being the "Plastic A Pillar Trim"... erm, which bit is that exactly lol :p

So basically if I wanted to wire an independent switch for the footwell lights I would probably be best wiring in two switches as it were - one feeding off the switches from the door sensors and the other on a seperate line for the permanent on/off switch, that way it will act totally seperate from the interior light if necessary?

You could wire them up in the same way as the int light is wired;
Find a permanent live (radio feed springs to mind)
Tap into it and fuse the wire going from there to the neons (+)
Run the (-) wire from the neons to your added in switch
Run a wire to earth from the switch (so the neons have permanent (+) and the (-) is switched)
Run a second wire from the (-) of your neons though an led to the wire that connects onto the door switches which is, as described, behind the a-pillar trims
The led will act as a one way valve so that the neons will operate independently of the interior lights on the switch or with the interior light when the doors are opened.:)

Lol - gave up in the end and took the sucka's way out by simply wiring it straight in to the door sensors (no additional on off switch), and then realised that its not such a bummer afterall.... happy with it for now.... may continue to tinker :p

cheers for your help guys :D :worship:
