can I change biting point of clutch? its very close to the floor, clutch is ok btw.

I realise it can be adjusted by cable but which way do I screw the nut? towards the end of cable, or opposite?

All detailed in a haynes, as ive not adjusted my clutch, I couldn't tell you

I have a feeling it's clockwise, but it's a case of suck it n' see, move it a lot in one direction and you'll find out, it's not like it's an irreversible change.

i just done it to mine, as my has the exact same problem

move both nuts towards the fron the of the car, rather than towards the engine.

The engine is at the front

i mean towards outside of the car , surely he will know what i mean, when he see it.

slacked the nuts rather than tighten them.

Don't forget that this will also make the clutch peddle higher so don't do it too much

hmm yes... depends how far down your peddal is.

And when u change gear , do u feel any stiffness ?

the reason i done mine was first and second gear were really stiff..

Looking from the end of the thread, anticlockwise makes the bite point lower, clockwise making it higher.
As for distance, I used the suck it and see technique,
Moved it a few turns in the direction required, then got in, started it, tryed reverse, then re-adjusted, retryed etc.

Righty tighty, lefty loosey.

A small amount on the cable can make a big difference at the pedal.

its sometimes tricky for first, but seems better when warm.

I done the usual test to see if clutch slips, it doesnt. One of my neighbours has a punto 60 and they had hard time getting first, that WAS due to the clutch failing, but all the forcing eventually made a linkage cable snap, and its never been right since.

I am more used to a clutch bite around half way, it just dont feel right at the very bottom of pedal, and is uncomfortable in traffic, I will give it a go adjusting tomorrow, a few mm, see how it is.
