I have seciento 1.1 sporting 51 plate and it wont rev.
it starts no problem and runs great at idle, but as soon as you rev it the revs go to 2000 and no higher and then fluctuate from 2000 to 500 for as long as you rev it.When this happens it brings on the engine management light but it doesnt store any codes and light goes off as soon as you take your foot off the pedal.
Any help on this matter would be great as it is giving me major headaches:bang:
cheers for reading and i hope someone can help

Hi guys i have checked the throttle valve and all seems to be well there.
By the tdc sensor do you mean crankshaft sensor are these the same thing ?If so what was the problem your pal had (99sei) ?did changeing the sensor solve the problem?...

Blast some carb cleaner on the TDC sensor to see if it makes any difference.

Mine get's clogged up to hell because i can't be bothered to put the drivers side inner arch back on the car, but a blast of car cleaner sorts it.

If it's not that then yes it could be the throttle potentiometer, or the tb butterfly sticking. Take the air inlet box off and take a look, if it moves ok with the cable then it's the TPS (throttle potentiometer switch) prices aroun £34 form a good motor factors.
