The aerial on my SPI Sei has broken so have looked on shops for parts and found this:

I have the shorter one, the base is too large and overhangs the mount, so i had to turn it on a lathe (well bench grinder, and sandpaper, but that sound like a bodge) so that it didn't look bodged.

With chat its fine, but with music, reception is not as good, get a kind of pulsing. Its not too bad if you stick it up high, but looks naff then.

I hardly ever have the radio on anyway, so its of no bother no me, but don't expect it to be as good. Length is everything

So you got the base from shop4parts and modified it?

I had plan to fit a longer aerial, but wanted to check it fitted before fitting it.

Sorry I may have confused you. I have never bought any ariel part from shopp4parts. I fitted the bee sting ariel onto my existing ariel mount which was fine on mine.

The mount needs no modding, the ariel itself is too wide, and looks stupid, you have to turn/cut the ariel to make if sit right.

Ah right so its the aerial that needs modding!
