Hi - been thinking about relocating the front washers from the bonnet on my cinq  - is it easy enough to do this - wheres the best place to relocate it to - whats the best way to do it? - thanks in advance.

thanks for that - i assume the golf water bottle is a decent size (sick of runnin out of water!) - did you just fabricate a mounting bracket or can the golf one be bodged? - is it poss to put the washer outlet just under the windscreen instead of on the bonnet - will this still give a good spray onto the screen? - how do i get the pipe in there?

The Golf one comes with its own bolt on bracket, not an issue, I still use the standard bonnet outlets, although you could get bolt on units that would fit on the scuttle.

The bottle I have is slightly smaller than the standard one but I am sure a trawl of the scrappies would reveal a larger one if thats what you want.

Cheers

D

If you want to move the washer jets may i suggest you look at a Citroen BX. They have a hollow bolt that attaches the wiper arm to the car, the water comes through the wiper arm bolt into a tube that runs along the wiper arm and then jets out a series of holes directly in front of the wiper arm, so you will never have the problem of the washers squirting over the roof of the car.
And then you can smooth over the bonnet holes. And you will have a decent mod that hardly anyone (or probably no one) else has got. (y)

Why is it not on any (many) other cars? Well Citroens have always had quirky features.
No hose fatigue, as the movement is at the bolt, and the bolt is hollow, no hose moves. Go look at a BX in real life to see whats involved.

And D, the reason there are no BX's in scrap yards... they all get crushed instantly :D . No, the scrap yards round here are exactly like they used to be, cars piled high for ever. My local has an X1/9 next to a Punto and Cinq. A real good mix. And another yard near me used to have an early Ferrari. The yard owner wouldn't let anyone take parts as it was 'worth too much', so it sat there for years, slowly rotting until it was worthless.:bang:
