Whilst doing my mot work I discover that one of my spare alloys is 4 1/2J not 5 1/2 J like all the rest. Are there 2 widths of sporting alloy? If not what's it off?

How do you know its 4.5j?

If the tyre says xxxx/45/13 for example this doesnt mean the alloy is 4.5j

It's exactly the same design and 98 pcd.
I know it's 4 1/2 J because all the sporting alloys have the width and the hub hole size cast into the face at the end of one of the spokes.
Did pandas ever come with sporting looking wheels?

45 got nothing to do with width really apart from being a percentage of width of the tyre.

Nope. I've only ever seen Cinq styles in 5.5J/13 and Tempra/Uno Turbo 14 inchers. In fact I've never seen a Fiat alloy narrower than 5J.

Im gonna back Sam up here...

If youre referring to the ET (offset) as the hub hole size then youre definately barking up the wrong tree. Offset is the space between the wheel centreline and the mating face when viewing it from the front when its on the car.

The counterbore (correct term for hub spigot size) is 60.9mm IIRC and doesnt feature on the wheels anywhere.

In Poland sportings was sold with 4,5" wide rims for domestic market, and 5,5" was a kind of extra option... so there are such thin alloys made by Fiat.
I'm not sure how it was going with export models, but maybe Fiat put those 4,5" to Suite & Soleil versions with 0,9 engine.

Message for cheeqic_nto - slightly off topic, but what are the deep dish wheels on the two cinqs in your signature pic?
