I am trying to get hold of a sports cat for a Fiat Seicento - does anyone know where i can get one from that isnt overally expensive?
How much do these normally retail at?

Yeah we had problems with Emmas car as it was nearly 25bhp down at the wheels on my old one, turned out the cat was blocked so it was strangling the car, fitted a new one and all was good.

My understanding is this, if you want a cat thats flows better get one from a bigger car as it will be made to flow for the bigger engine, but once warm will still extract all it needs to so still passing an MOT, and roadside VOSA checks which are becoming more and more common.

I know that we will be fittinga s/s cat from a Rover KV6 engine on to Emmas 1368 16V Sei as it happens to be marginally bigger than a standard cento one but flows much better and has bigger openings so with bespoke exhuast will flow fantastic.

Aaron.

Thanks Aaron - thats quite interested to know, so which one would you recommend to me for my Seicento Sporting MPI 1108?
Sorry to be a pain - i have been given a quote for £250 but no idea what one it is!!Is this a fairly good price? :)

I don't think you can get a sports CAT for the MPI thats a straight swop.
I've seen one for the punto (manifold/CAT complete).
You can buy universal CATs from as little as £30 up, but then It's customisation of the exhaust, and extending the second Lambda sensor cable.
I'm looking into a cheaper alternative to the £200+ 4 branch header pipe.
I'm going to fit a Punto 55, 4 int 2 manifold with 2 into 1 down pipe which is standard on the Punto.
Then place the CAT in the same place as the SPI Seicento with the stub for the second Lambda sensor.

i know they are not a straight swap but i just wondered which particular one Aaron/anyone else would recommend as i have seen many on the net but which one would be the best!:) i am not looking for a manifold as welll, just the cat if its possible, just for the time being so i can see what sort of price i am looking at paying and calculating whether it is worth it!! :)
thanks guys!

That's what we're saying mate, it's not - look where the cats are:

I don't think many poeple have had the experience of an aftemarket performance CAT because of the price.
Most would use something from another car of a larger capacity engine to be on the safe side.
You could try a secondhand one from a Punto as it's the same CAT for 55/60/75 and 16V so should do the job and keep the cost down.
Janspeed will make you a stainless one for about £400+ and you can be shure of quality.

But thanks all very much for your comments and i will now go away and find one!
