Made some small improvements to my car as I removed the Uno inlet manifold and actually got round to port matching it to the head so its now taken out as far as the head gasket as this is how big the ports are on my head. Also managed to take out the top of it from 38mm to 40mm matching my Tricker TB in in so doing remove the step in the inlet system which has removed the small hesitance it had just before coming on boost. although the gains are to small to notice in terms of raw speed, the car drives even better than it did before with little perception of lag or the turbo spooling up, yet able to still potter at 30mph in 5th. Should be able to gain a few mpg from it now as don't need to drive around the small hesitance it had before, so needed to use less throttle for smoother driving style.

(PS still no print outs as Chris the friend of Emma's dad has just bought new premises, no longer at Silverstone and is still in the building stage, its a 5 acre site and has big plans, just no blooming printer, but all runs are on file for when he does)

Nice one. That makes power to weight similar to a 'grale. Aside from the difference in traction, how does it compare in terms of speed?

John

In the right gear right time Cinq can and does surprise not only a 'grale, but many a quick car, say cruisng along at 60mph in 'grale in 5th as its only doing 2000rpm so its off boost and therefore be pretty slow, whereas the Cinq with such a short gearbox is right on the money rev wise to spool up quickly and get the jump without having to come down gears. Through the gears tho, Cinq wouldn't see which way my 'grale went.

you know, a 3 cylinder engine around half the size can make that power.. or near enough
yeah but then the melt, and they are still slow before melting :D

Impressive. Any further plans for it? More boost, charge cooler?

Sell it! watch out for classifieds.

If i was to keep it i woudl maybe invest in a 200mm clutch and flywheel from the 1368cc engine as the 180mm clutch only just hangs on and no more, and thats with an uprated GrennStuff clutch.

And maybe Greddy boost controller, the one my friend has on his integrale even has a built in vacuum pump that actualy holds the waste gate shut and can adjust the waste gate all throug the rev range to get a very even boost curve, removes any boost spikes and prevents tail off as exhaust back pressure increase and forces boost down. This way I would not have to increase boost, but control it very acurately which would actually preserve the drive train/engine.
