As most of you types know, i just got me Cinq sporting back after getting the headgasket fixed. However, i think i may have found a new prob. Just picked the missus up from the station after a night of revelry up town. Cars been in the garage at least 5hrs so is stone cold. After 15 min drive the temp gauge stayed 50-55c. However, after i let my girlfriend into the house, restarted the car to put it in the garage, the temp gauge jumped up to a more realistic 80c.
I noticed this today when i when i drove the car back from the garage to my house, the temp gauge hardly raised, but when i jumped back in it to go shopping, it started to work as normal. Any ideas what could be causing this
Not really worried about what the temp gauge says it is, as long as the fan kicks in. Is the fan switch connected to the temp gauge, as in the fan kicks in at the temp gauges behest ? Or does it have its own sensor that works independantly to the temp gauge?
Anyway, its freakin' late. Tomorrow morning im gonna start the car from cold and just let it tick-over in the garage and see if the fan kicks in. If not, back to the mechanic . . . . . . .
