Hi, wondering if someone can help?

I have had the fan off my Seicento as it was siezed. It now spins over well, I tried it on a battery and the fan itself works fine. Replaced the blown fuse also.

Still not working though, I was sat in traffic the other day, the engine was over heating and the fan didn't kick in.

Does anybody know which sensor it is that controls this?

Many thanks

Jadie

Hi there. Dont know if this is any help to you, but I own a 1108 Seicento Sporting, and recently had trouble with my temp warning light. It was coming on and flickering about. Not impresseed. Anyway, my fan didnt seem to be kicking in properly, and after some investigation discovered that on the side of the radiator, was a green plug with two electrical wires going in. One of the wires was connected to one of the pins and had corroded away, causing failure in the circuit. Anyway, I got a new switch today for less than 14 quid, and will fit soon this week. That should cure the problem. You can find the switch on shop4parts.co.uk. I did not getn mine from there however, somewhere local. Hope this might help in tracking the fault.

p.s removing the plug will mean draining all the coolant out of the system I do believe. Im not very technical on cars, but learning as I go along lol!

Good Luck

If you're well prepared and quick you dont have to drain the coolant, just quickly swap them over. You will loose a bit of coolant obviously, but not a substantial amount. Have a bucket ready to catch the stuff that does fall out though ;)

I too also agree that its the temperature switch (y)

Cool. So if it is the temp switch you may have problem sorted! If not, could it possible that the fuse has blown?

Not sure, but someone should have a better clue than me lol

Hi,

thanks for the info everyone. Will have a look at that switch and try that. I thought it must be that one.

I have just changed the coolant :bang: so hopefully will be able to swap them quickly and not lose much!

Cheers
