Gonna do a long journey in a 1999 Seicento SX and thought it prudent to take a can of top up for the radiator.
Trouble is not sure what antifreeze is in the car already apart from the fact its GREEN in colour. I think there are 2 types, BLUE or GREEN. Naturally I have a can of the blue stuff. Is it ok to mix them? If not what make is the GREEN stuff.
Being particular as I know Fiat Seicentos are a bit likely to overheat. And yes, I am totally new to Fiats.

Just take water. I'm certain that its bad to mix the two types. Something to do with the chemicals used to prevent freezing, corrosion etc.

There isn't a particular brand difference, so if you want some more antifreeze just pop to a motor factors and ask for some green antifreeze.

i was under the impression there was reds & blues, maybe someone has beat you to mixing them?

And I was in the impression that this section was for greeting new members

I got a bottle of antifreeze / summer coolant the other day. it was clear and not supposed to use stronger than 70/30 mix. so that throws another colour (or lack of ) in there

I'm sure the greeny colour is just the blue that has been dilluted, on a long journey I'd be more worried about clutch cables and checking all the levels, tyre pressures etc.
