Got a ****tycento 4 weeks ago. After two days the heater matrix sprung a leak. Got it fixed by having it disconnected - now no heater. Today the oil light flickered when going down steep hills only. Checked oil and it's at minimum, so was going to top it up but I can't undo the oil filler cap! Before I get a large something to turn it, is it definitely anti clockwise to undo - with this car one can never pressume. Also any tips on what to use to turn it? Full title of car is Cinquecento LX L reg

Thanks :p

What engine is it 899cc? On sportings (1108cc) its just a rubber cap you can lift up. Get a haynes and a gripping tool (y) Would imagine Anti-Clockwise though like most threads are to loosen.

Anticlockwise is right (y) They are a pain to undo - just need to persevere with it :)

Thanks for replies. It's a 899cc. Just bought a "baby boa" rubber wrench thing from Halfords but still having trouble. The engine space is SO CRAMPED the wrench thing won't fit in to turn it. I might try and saw a bit off the end. Or I might go to a garage and get ripped off and sell the baby boa on ebay. Just looked and they can sell for more than at Halfords - not if a bit has been sawed off the end though. What to do what to do.

Back again sorry. Do you think it prizes off? Anyone got this exact same car? Cinquecento LX 899cc L reg

It definately turns - I had an 899 :) Like I said, you need perseverance and a good grip :)

Might wanna try Cinq SX btw. Cinq LX isnt a model Ive ever heard of :p

Its best to remove the oil filter with the engine warm. If you cant do that, I usually get bored and drive a screwdriver through it and wrench it off..

If you want a haeter matrix to replace your leaky one, PM me..Im breaking a Cinq SX atm.

think he/she means filler not filter tom ;)

SUCCESS! Sawed a chunk off the end of the wrench and cap came off eventually. Thanks for offer of heater matrix arseofbox but I'm not too bothered, I'm just running it till MOT is up then probably be scrapped, unless by some miracle it passes without spending too many £'s. After 150 miles it's given me a busted heater matrix and an oil leak, I wonder what's awaiting me in the next 150  By the way ooops yeah it's SX ;)

 im worried now! i managed to push my calipers back by hand! yet you have to use grips!

did you take the filler cap off it makes it easy to push them in but i wouldnt be worried about it you might have a leak or somthing somwhere and that could also make it easy to push them in.
