bit of a weird question but hay im a weirdo person, so.......

ive got a tripod and hoist can i stand the engine on a pallet and low the car using the hoist to bolt it in?

will it reach the mounting points?

would be really easy this way seen as im doing everything my self

why not just raise the engine up till its on the mounts?

got to go out get some chain to fix to the engine then and i cant be bothered really lol.

ibe had a look and when its on the pallet it needs to be dropped about 8 inches. might just have a go and see what happends

decent rope will hold the engine. you are making it hard for yourself.
when you say likft the whole lot on the planet are you planning on manipulating the negine over off the pallet into the bay?

It will need two pallets, and the front wheels off, then it will go low enough. Make sure the rear is supported level before taking the axle stands out.

engine is positioned underneath ready to be hoisted in.

think ive got some toe rope about some where so will use that, thinking about it thats what i used last time .

used the same method again, toe rope and hoist. absolute betch to get in by my self but it went in the end

off the topic for a minute, how do you weld.

i had to weld the nut to the plate for the drivers side engine mount. but couldnt get it right, do you touch the nut or the playe that has got the negative lead on?
