Ok when last one was fitted i took to garage as i couldnt get the split pins whilst lying on the floor, but well the garage didnt route it properly, so fitting my new one today... i've a problem, haynes tells me to route it as it was before reversal of fitting... but i dont know what way this is

Do both parts go behind the bracket for the heatshield? and does the bottom/top part have to go to a specific side at all?

 cheers guys  p.s. mucky under there! :p

Ok, it has to go a specific way around, the adjuster goes at the bottom and the leg of the cable from the adjuster goes around the fuel tank to the back left iirc, and the other goes through the heatsheild bracket gap and to the back right (y)

Need to go have a play with the cable adjustment though, at the moment my handbrake will hold my car on my roads incline on only 1 click (wouldnt at all before!) and just rolling if i yank it up it can lock them stupidly easily... beats no handbrake i suppose :D

That's a proper Cento handbrake, if you can lock the rears easy!

Proper adjustment is starting to drag at 3 clicks iirc.

would be worried if after everything being brand spanking i was still having problems  going to give it some use as is and get it to bed in a bit before i play with adjusting it more, fixed my numberplate connections/bulbs too so just indicator bulbs on front (picked up some chrome ones for £3.99 - bargain!) then ready for its mot again :D

bad habit that pete :p hope you told it off? :p

saying that mine needed alternator swapping a while back, luckily i knew of one i could pinch (off alex22's turbo cinq :p :D) also deduced where my boost leak is so have that fixed soon too :D

ahh :p was ok in the turbo cinq as was overcharging so no probs, only other time was when i fitted 1242 into my third cinq (red one mase has now) finished fitting and wouldnt engage clutch, as i needed the car desperately took it to clutch specialist with clutchless gear changes (helped me run it in properly at least! :p) and got it done, then on the way back from there it died... but still had spare alternator from 2nd cinq which i broke so fixed that and was at work next day... was a fun weekend that :D

Btw just to run this by someone else: Boost leak somewhere, when gunning it i can smell petrol, so in theory must be a leak on the throttle body as it would be after the injector(s) if its causing me to smell petrol? sound good to you? :p

well i've got new yellow samco hoses for the vacuum hoses (where can i find jubilee clips small enough for that? :( ) so thats all being replaced, wouldnt have thought the charcoal can would've caused me to lose boost though? and brakes feel fine so cant be servo can it? my thinking was TB as i tinkered with that and when i did re-used gaskets for joining the top/bottom half and also reused eviljaxx's paper gaskets for the alloy spacer of 40mm tb (which had done 1k or so of miles iirc) so may be that

Cheers fella,
Alex

Just a hose taking it from the rocker over to the gearbox mount and a breather filter slapped on the end of the hose (was trying to reroute it for mot but it kinked when putting it onto the induction, so hid it back there  wasnt commented on when went for mot anyway :p)

It's the snowflake effect all over again! Mine has the original breather pipe from cam cover, connected to the tb via a non-return valve and the open end with the breather filter on is now located over the gearbox. Was asking as if the non-return valve is passing it can leak air/fuel mix under pressure out of the breather filter. This can be A Bad Thing!
