Well first time through and the car failed, damn 15"s.
Its scrubbing on the front anti roll bar on full lock, which i know not to do anyway, and the outside of the rears is a bit chewed but it doesnt touch the tarmac. Worst thing is they say put the standards back on to pass MOT then you can change back because on the roads its fine.
But hey it could have failed for more lol

Cheers liam, they are 15x7s so they are a bit big but if i put bigger spacers on the front it will push them out past the arches, which is also illegal, and if i put smaller ones on the rear to stop the chewing then the wheels will rub on the rear arms:bang: . Cant win
Ghost, they guys over here are ok too, most of the time, but because the MOT over here is government controlled its harder to push things through like that. cheers

Well the standard rims are the easy way since the MOT is only a check of the roadworthiness of the vehicle that day.

What offset is the wheel?

Liam

Yea i know it is, its just a pain having to put the old wheels on in the morning, take it to MOT and then change back over in the evening.
I dont no what offset they are mate. Sorry
Cheers

Hehehe.. i didn't have that problem, my problem was my handbrake, bigger wheels made more pressure on the handbrake.. failed 1st time at 15% (HOW CHEEKY!) and 2nd time a diff garage did it (after adjusting slightly - reverse and slam brakes on coupla times..) and it passed.. Wheels seem to cause loads of problems.. :(

if a tiny bit of rubbing is what they failed it for then ALL mk1 punto GT's and sportings with the 5spoke 14" alloys with the correct 185/55 r14 rubber would fail and be picked to pieces in yards, as with a load in the boot the tyres on the rear rub on teh damper bodies and occasionally catch the wheel arch (not the plastic liner but the bit just about the subframe mounting rubbers), and on the front I think they hit the plastic wheel arch liners with speed bumps + 4people:( (and my rear sus arms, wheel bearings, AND subframe mounts (the newer mod'd type) are all less than 6months old).
