OK, the long Easter weekend was set aside to help Emma's Dad get the engine in to her turbo Cinq, but little fecker that it is my turbo Cinq starts blowing its exhaust on Thu morning when starting up to go to work, fine easy fix..........fatal last words, more of later.
Fri engine in Emma's car, all looking good, some modifications, which will be covered in Emma's turbo thread. Not look at my car, should be easy......
Sat Punto GT brakes and Sei Abarth stud conversion over form old Cinq to new, SuperSprint exhaust on, further modifications to car/engine bay (you may see a trend here).......
Sun look at my car, arg, manifold stud broken where turbo bolts, so remove bumper, drain cooling system and unbolt turbo and manifold etc, then shock horror there are cracks all over my turbo on inlet side, now this isn't uncommon, most if not all turbos have cracks, but not ones you can see daylight out of when looking inside turbo oh well need to wait till after weekend to phone turbo Technics who happen to be pretty local and see what can be done, tho at minimum new inlet housing is needed as its shot which is a bummer as turbo shaft has no play in it what so ever so turbo was healthy otherwise, so back to Emma's car.........
Mon final check over of all ancillaries and earths etc and refitting of Fuel Cut Defender and MF2 and turn over, nothing, no fuel, fill it up, turn over nothing, :bang: much head scratching, and then finally dawned on me the immobilizer was unplugged, turn over engine sparked into life straight away and idled away nicely
So one long weekend, one turbo Cinq dead, another raised from the ashes and sounding very very good.
