hello everyone :) happy easter :D

soon i hope to replace front discs, pads, rear shoes, master cylinders, linkages, and handbrake cable. its not for fun lol... the brakes are due for replacement front and rear. and the handbrake is a bit rubbish. i dont know the condition/state of the cylinders so ill just replace them to save myself doing it in a few months.

ive read petes stickys (great resource (y) ) however not having messed with brakes before (except changing pads) can someone tell me what process i need to follow? and generally anything thats going to help me? lol

thank you! :)

Replacing everything on a car that's only that old seems extreme to say the least.

As Custard suggests, the Haynes manual covers everything: from memory, only the handbrake cable and pulley are different from Cinq to Sei.

I'd suggest that you start with the fronts. Inspect everything visually. A Sei hire car or one that's pretty hard used will probably need pads and disks after about 3 years. (Someone sells em on ebay for less than £40 quid.) Rear shoes need less frequent changing as a rule, but it's easy to inspect the wear.

Handbrales often fail to work properly due to the operating levers at the drum end seizing up. Just strip ther booger down, free it off with WD40, wipe off the WD and introduce a little copperslip into the pivot.

If you can't see any weeping and you're not loosing fluid, the cylinders and seals are likely to be just fine. If they're fine, replacing them is just a waste of time and money. Bleed out the system and replace with Dot4 fluid (not silicon). If you want to spend some money, either buy me a bottle of grappa or replace the flexi hoses with Goodridge. :yum:
