elo people, just wondered if u could help me out.

"Number 3 and 4 spark plugs siezed in engine possibly cross threaded, cannot tune or rectify misfire"

thats what i got back from the garage today basically saying they cant removed the spark plugs without them snapping which from what they tell me if they do it can be alot of money for a new head.

my mate rekons dropping a 1.2 punto engine in, i cant do this work because i aint really a mechanic :<

any ideas much appreciated.

No. 3 spark plug on mine won't come out either, i shall give it a while with some lube, then attack the f**ker full on.

Hopefully it wont snap :)

Another day...another problem...

I had the same problem on spark plug No4. Was a right biatch to get out. It wont be threaded unless some monkey replaced them. If they really are that bad get a garage to do it. Its either that or knuckle down and dont be affraid of some bashed hands:)

just keep squirting WD40 et al down the threads for a week, get a plug wrench that is a neat fit,i usually use a rachet and extension and use steady torque.if it feels like its getting too stiff then stop and repeat a week of WD40 then repeat.running the engine till warm may help as well.unless your changing the engine then those plugs have gotta come out!!;)

Fun While It Runs

Would go for a seriously hot engine, penetrating oil rather than wd40, it will just evaporate, good six point socket and steady pressure from a long bar. Start by trying to tighten, just a wee bit to break the seal. Keep the extension absolutely in line with the plug so that there is no sideways strain.

Cheers
