Today whilst driving to work my EOBD light came on. The engine was hesitating alot when attempting to accelerate and when it did accelerate it juddered. This also happened when letting off the accelerator. In the car manual it says contact your local Fiat dealershipo but they are closed so I thought I'd ask the real experts :) In the manual it describes the possible fault to do with fueling and emissions, I did recently change the fuel tank on my car but that was last week so I thought if I had done something wrong the light would have come on sooner...

Anyhow thanks in advance people,

Fred

When the exact same thing happened on my wifes Renault, found it to be a split vacuum hose, just replaced 8 inches of hose and better than ever. Dont know whether or not we have them on Cinqs !! if so try that.

Well, after cleaning the plugs and HT leads the light has gone off. Haahahaa

I love fiats, cheers for the help people.

Hi all,

I'm a new fiat multipla owner, delighted with the car but having a few problems, mostly sorted but tonight my EOBD light came on. It was bought from a second hand dealer and Ive only had it 4 days so Im gonna let him book it in and deal with it.

However I was wondering if there is something simple I could try in the meantime to save all the hassle of keeping it off road until its fixed.

How long can you run the car with the light on without damage, it certainly seems to be acting normally no other problems but the light itself

Thanks for any advice given:worship:

I have the same fault, it only happens in the rain, so i imagine water is getting on to something it shouldnt? the light comes on (icon of an engine) it used to just flash, but the light is on all the time now since coming back home on the motorway last night, the spray from other cars causes it or going trhough a large puddle.

Not sure what to do, but its running really rough. Disconecting the battery reset it?

Regards

Chris

Check the connections on the lower O2 sensor. I am guessing as you have an engine picture its MPi.

Hi
My Multipla is suffering a similar problem as the engine warning light has started coming on when the engine is revved and this evening the engine would not restart whilst still hot. It restarted after 30 minutes and was fine being driven very gently, but the warning light came on if revved a little & once again will not start.
Any ideas appreciated.

Thanks

Multipla is whole different kettle of fish to a cento, but basic principles apply.

I would suggest a temperature sensor is giving wrong information.

I would als expect Multipla to be OBD compliant, so an autospark with Examiner software could test the sensors for you.
