Very odd noise was coming from my engine. Sounded like a dodgy tappet but different. Thought it could be tensioner or alt. Had horrid visions of head off to explore. Dunno why but decided to push plastic timing cover. And noise went! Looks like a bolts fallen out and near the other on front bit a flange has broke off. So anyone know what the upper and lower cover come in at Fiat?

Also I've been reading various threads on clonks. Mine does it when I put in reverse and apply normal power. Seems the rear mount is usual culprit. But the threads mention clonk when doing forwards.. Before I buy has anyone else had the same prob?

Replaced rad today. Getting them orig clips off is such a mish. But the biggest pain is that bleed pipe that threads through to the engine bay. My knuckles are skinned but I couldn't be arsed to remove bumper. Makes me laugh. The rad just hangs there and the main hoses locate it. All done so I is well pleased.

Happy cinquing fellow cinq types.

P.S. Noticed O/S CV boot leaking that horrid grease. So another job to do. Bolax!

mine had a shredded cam belt top cover.. so i just took it off. much easier!

get that CV boot sorted asap, a cv with no grease is gonna cause problems!

its only the top half of the cover, the bottom half is still in place. i can't really see how anything can get caught in it. I will replace it sometime though.

Everythings standard. Its just the two 13mm bolts hold it up on that bracket round the top hose outlet.

Nothing stops it swinging back and forth till the hoses are connected. No mount at the bottom's what I meant.:)

There should be a mount on the opposite end of the rad from the hoses. The top one you have, and I presume it has a rubber round it. The bottom one is a rubber nipple that fits into the rad and then is pushed into a hole on the inner wing extension to stop it swinging.

Cheers

Put rad back to day. Indeed there's a small lug to keep all in line. silly me.

Oh yeah must think before pulling bleed pipe through inner wing. had to spend 10 mins with a coat hanger lining up tween the two holes to thread'll it through.. silly me.
