Right in plain english, beasto, your cinq's ecu holds the immobliser and key info and is connected to the sterring column code reader.

If you unplug your ecu like Beau says and fit the mckrich chipped one (the chip disables the immobiliser) it wll start and run but your code light will stay on plus your car is no longer immobilised so your insurance will likely be invalid.

my insurance dont no about my immobiliser as i ddnt no if i had one or not. also if i put my cinq in for service they will need my red key wont they, but without a immobiliser they wont be able to use it?? sorry if im annoyin you people its just i no nothing about my cinq sorry:(

ok great just 2 more things then i will leave you lot alone. does 6 - 7bhp gain that the chip gives recognisable when driving?? and any suggestions for a after market alarm?? thanks alot kris(y) (y) (y) :D

Check your docs. It may be down as 'standard manufacturer security fitted' (or words to that effect). The immobiliser is standard fit, so the immobiliser may well be declared.............

If you have problems with the chip kris, i doubt you would have little trouble selling it on :)

ill bring the ecu along tonight then, up to you if u have it lol
and you can fit a different alarm as thats what i did with my cinq
cheers
