Car doesn't misfire, no flat spots. But I always seem to have an oil film at the arrowed parts.

I also noticed that the Coolant level dropped from max to below min within a week.

However there is no sign of a leakage on my driveway...

I have receipts that the waterpump has been changed about 8 months ago, radiater has been changed 1 month ago.

Any Ideas ??

That was quick! Thanks.

Would this explain the water loss aswell ?

it was just the one time so far...

just another dumb question:

Can I clean it with WD40 ? Or what do I need to use  ?

I checked again today and the water keeps boiling over.

checked oil level - fine.

There is no trace of oil in the coolant tank.

anycideas what it might be ?

I really hope that is just a faulty cap.

I will replace the cap & rocker gasket tomorrow

cooling fan is working fine.
temperature light didn't come on so far...

Fitted a new cap. & the new gasket.

Took it for a short 10 mile run - no oil leak, no overboiling coolant.

i didn't even know those caps can go wrong:rolleyes: :D

Thanks four your great advise.

I keep loosing water. But there is no sign of where it's going.

I changed the spark plugs on the weekend.

The one where the oil filler cap is was full of oil.

And the one furthest right was tightened at 100NM!!!!!
When I finally was able to remove it I noticed that the thread was ok, just had a lot of "gunk" on it.

Anyway changed them all & engine started fine. Since yesterday it starts very lumpy. But once I drive the car it's fine. No power loss whatsoever.

In idle it's lumpy again...

Any Ideas ?

Within 2 days it goes from MAX to MIN!

Obviously only if I'm driving the car...

not good.... especially with the irratic idling. could be the headgasket has blown as a side effect of the coolant cap not bein sealed!

other key signs are the high temp / mayo in the coolant / oil caps, so thats wat u gotta look out for now!

or u could have a leak from one of the rad hoses, or the bleed valve by the battery is a common one as well. ive had to put a rubber "O" ring under the valve to stop mine from leaking.

there's no temp gauge in the sei...

On my way to work (20 miles) in the morning - the fan doesn't even come on.

On the way home it does come on about the last 3 miles. And that is only if in bad traffic....

So far there's no mayo in the coolant tank/ oil filler cap.

However I do think that the oil level has risen.
