Is it normal for the fiat clutch cable to go so easy? the plastic connection from cable to pedal, do they make it in metal? Is the clutch suppose to be hard to use..? mine feels like changing gear in a mucle car..! its hard as nails..!

Hi, I think mines gone on Seicento but can't work out how to remove the glovebox to get to where the linkage meets the clutch cable. Thanks in advance.

Re: Clutch Cable linkage

I know this subject is already been discussed but can somebody tell me how to fit the cable clutch linkage, the triangular bit of plastic, thanks in advance :bang:

hi didnt want to start a new topic ,had a new clutch put in my siecento and everything is fine apart from it sounds like a creaky door when i put the clutch peddle down have changed the rod or push rod (no2 in the maual)that connects to clutch peddle as one of the plastic bushes was worn but it's still the same. there is some travel in the linkrod so going to ghange that also am i going on the right road folks ??

Hi, After years of service from our classic panda whic just failed the MOT, I 'upgraded' to a Sei Abarth. Bought off E Bay went to see it - looked cool - exchanged cash -fantastic fun for about 20 mins at which point the clutch went to the floor and stayed there. The plastic bit had bust! As it was approx 300 miles from home it was far from ideal. Mechanic up north reckoned that it was dash board out and 10 hours + - ******! (n)

After getting on here though and checking out the threads - some excellent contributions by the way thanks! :slayer: I had a crack myself and whilst a fiddly job involving lots of special language, I got it done in about 2 hours, but I reckon I could do it again in under the hour now as long as I have ratchet spanner and deep socket to remove ECU and some long nosed pliers for split pins.

I undid the linkage at the peddle end (with a ratchet spanner) and also detensioned the cable end at the far end under the bonnet. - I reckon taking the seat out is also worthwhile for the sale of a few minutes, makes life a dam site easier. Works well with no groans or creeks, but I'm not sure how long its going to last. - I have heard of folk using paper clips instead of proper split pins - not the way forward if you ask me! :yuck:

As has been mentioned on here, I'm going to get one made out of metal as reading on here they go all the time.

Sei is back on the road and brings back memories of Karting and early minis
