Random question, but if i have a hub with rounded off bolts is it possible to just remove the hub and rethread the bolt holes (by passing bolt through from behind) and just refit it? or will i have problems with possibly knackering the bearings this way? just one of my hubs has a rounded off bolt hole and want to have all working when i fit nut/stud conversion when smoors go on for good

To rethread that hole youle have to get someone to redrill a new hole then retap a new thread and then you will have one stud and tread different from the other three go to the scrappies get new /second hand hub less bother (y)

So its ok to remove hub and reuse (eg from car at scrappy or something?) (y)

Just out of interest is there a reason why not a good idea to rethread it or more of a just incase thing? idea would've been to feed a bolt through from behind and feed it to/fro till it gets a thread again (repeat from front and from back kinda thing)

Look at it this way when you order the new studs/nuts you cant order an odd one stud/nut you will have to fit one odd one in that hub (n)

But surely if i keep the hub as is not using drill, i will be able to feed a bolt from behind though the hole rethreading that way, feeding in/out (excuse the wording here  ) from front and back (sorry again  ) thus keeping it the same size thread just rethreading the rounded off part

Fair enough, thanks all for advice (y) I'll either look at getting one cheap from scrappy or one new from shop4 parts, going to get the car sorted over xmas while i dont need it for work etc (y) although need it wed/thurs/fri but i'll sort it im sure (y)
