Technical suspention on cinq sporting

when i purchased my cinq sporting, i was told it was completely standard, and has a fsh. yesterday i pulled in to a garage and saw a cinq sporting on the forcourt. the cinq for sale was identical to mine... except for the gap between the tyres and the wheel arch, which was really noticeable. do you think that my suspention could have sagged? the difference was at least 50mm. or do you think that a previous owner has been a bit sneaky, fitted lower springs and not imformed the insurance (or me!) so, i would like to ask cinq sporting drivers with standard suspention if you could give me some idea of the gap between the wheel arch and the tyre.

There was quite a gap between wheel and arch before i got my 14's, now its bigger(need new suspension!!!)
There is deffinatly something up if the difference was 50mm, thats alot. Have a look at the springs on your car, most aftermarket springs will be a fancy colour (usually red or yellow i've found on cinq's)that may be a give away????
If they are lowering springs, the bonus coz they improve then handling no end.

took me a while, but finally got round to looking at the springs and after scratching a fair few years worth of mud off...


they were bright blue! [:0]

so i guess somebody has been a bit sneaky!

the dampers where also a blue colour, which may explain why i jumps from bump to bump!!!

not that i mind though, thats saved me a few quid!

I'd like a -40mm drop, i hear -50mm is a very harsh ride!

The ride is governed more by the shox than the springs, but if you lower it 50mm you want it fairly firm otherwise you'd find it rather easy to hit the bump stops a lot.

Hia, how far can you drop a Seicento Sporting without distroying or changing the standard shocks??
-20mm, -30mm, -35mm, -40mm or -50mm??

Well i've gone 40mm (mayby 50mm according to people on here Pi springs r more like 50mm than 40mm) thats about as far as u can go b4 u start getting problems
