Mine was smoother when I fitted a new one. If it's stiff, chances are it'll end up breaking, I'd change it now before snaps behind a Ferrari at a roundabout and you end up running into it.

If you've got a Cinq, it's dead easy. PITA on a Sei.

Do it yourself, buy the manual, its less than the cost of the labour. As a first timer taking things gently, hour and a half tops.

Cheers

Re: wil changing my clutch cable make it eaiser to push my clutch down

it might not help? when I changed the clutch on my old car it went stiffer until it 'settled in' I had it adjusted and wore it in and then it was fine... My old car wasn't a Fiat but a clutch is a clutch, right?

Just check when the last clutch was fitted; you could try adjusting it before you fork out for a new one?

Re: wil changing my clutch cable make it eaiser to push my clutch down

I might even add into the mix,the cluch fork bushes.
When these wear, the clutch becomes heavy and as these wear further, the cable has an even harder job.

Total for doing a FULL clutch in spares is around 100,inc new clutch, new fork and bushes and cable.
But well worth doing.
Some cars are 100 for just the clutch alone.
